St Andrews is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School and currently has 300 pupils. The main school admits pupils from age 4-11.
We currently provide a full time place in September for those children who have passed their fourth birthday and will become five years of age during that academic year. These children form our Reception Class.
All children have the opportunity to attend full time after a short settling in period in September.
In the Reception Year, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum . We aim to increase children’s confidence while making them familiar with school routines and enabling them to gain the social and physical skills necessary to operate in the school environment. We recognise that these young children have very specific needs in developing across all curriculum areas and parents are made very welcome if they wish to discuss pre-school and early learning activities.
Applying for a place at our school
Parents with a child due to start the Reception Year in September 2018 will receive a pack with details about how to make applications in November 2017. Parents can also make applications to other year groups during the school year. All applications must be made through Essex County Council Admissions. We are always happy to show you around our school if you are considering applying for a place.
PRE SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS
We have a purpose built Unit for pre-school children and admit children in the year before they are due to start school.
Our Pre-school unit is able to take a maximum of 16 children.
